Default Traxxas Slash Build Thread

Well, I just got a new Traxxas Slash kit in, so I figure I would un-box it, and go threw the parts. Funny, there is not a assembly manual in the box ??

At least the body is pre-painted.

I would contact traxxas and get the manual for it. Im sure it wont be very hard to put together though. Good luck.

Kit, assembly manual??

Those are supposed to be "100% Fully Assembled" according the the website.

Sure you didn't snag a Demo-Derby Special off fleaBay?

Did Traxxas ever make a "Kit" anything, ever??

Yep....they changed their target market to something where they could make some money. I think the same folks that started Traxxas are still running the company...it has not been sold off like, Losi and others.

Yup. The Jenkins Brothers. The same guys that are now www.jenkinsbrothersracing.com. They're now involved in full-size shortcourse racing. I'd say their business model has served them well.

I applause Traxxas for their sales success, but their is something to be said about the rarefied air of owning multiple National and World titles and the exclusively that brings.

Traxxas saw that they couldn't compete w/ Losi and Associated in the realm of racing, so they changed course and went after the basher crowd.

Nothing wrong w/ that and they have been very successful at it. But there are different ways to be successful in the sport.
