the sxx is just an updated smaller version. brushless is still relatively new and they learn more about it all the time so the new esc should be more efficiant and better technology. im getting one when they come out. the 07 comp is awesome i have 2 and love them. no problems and i personally think the customer service was great.

I really like the Comp '07, too. I have 2 right now, and the newer one came with the heatsink to mount the fan. I think the fan is only real diff with the TC (?).

I've heard if I put this in my B4, the fan won't fit on the esc. But then again, the fan, nor the heatsink is really necessary in 2wd off road. Correct?

Im sending a PM

If your running 13.5, get the new SPX. If your running mod, then a normal Sphere is fine

Many will say the heat sink is not necessary, but I still use it
for the insurance
and protection you can have with it compared to not using one.....

If you have a motor issue or a bad bearing, transmission, ect ...

The ESC can be put under huge loads under these conditions and becomes very hot .
A heat sink can make
the difference between a replacement or not ....

It is a tight fit with the fan and heatsink on the ESC. But you can use the B4 Vortex body or a body that has the extra little height where the ESC is mounted. You can also cut a small opening where the extra height on the body is for more ventilation, so you might not even need the fan. Most people don't use a fan for 17.5's, and some not even for a 13.5.

You dont need a fan. I have a lrp with a heatsink in my 2wd (8.5)and my 4wd(7.5). My esc doent even get to 100 degrees after a running for about 10 to 15 mins.

Hi CaptainHowdyt13, I raced my mod B4 and T4 in 100+ degrees temperature without a fan, with no problem. So, I guess you don't need a fan then.

Fan is not necessary. If you want to use the heat sink for extra security. Shave down the hieght of the aluminum heat sink before sticking it onto the ESC. This will allow it to clear any body.

Tip: after you adjust your ESC settings, put a small piece of electrical tape over the Mode/Set holes to keep the dust/dirt out. Otherwise the microswitches will get contaminated and they will stop responding. The ESC will continue to work, but you will not be able to change any settings using the switches.

ive never had an issue with the dirt in mine ive had it for over a year now.

As for the diff between the comp and tc there is the fan and the tc has bigger fetts so you have more punch which i guess is good for 4wd and is really ment for touring car hence the tc. And if u can wait get the sxx when it comes out its new tech of a new tech so bl will only get better.
