What do you mean by "start you out" ??

Dragonfueled 04-02-2009 08:33 PM

Huh I would of thought that the thicker
Oil would go in the rear like a
Slash ?

rcmark24 04-03-2009 04:50 AM

JD what oil comes with the kit?

I think he's talking about what the manual suggests.

Well, thicker oil in the front generally will make the car "turn" better.
On the RC10GT (Factory Tean) the stock oil was 35wt front 30wt, rear. I am sure this is pretty much a standard on their 1/10 vehicles. I personally prefer 40wt in the front 32-35wt in the rear.

I thought this was a SC10 thread?? :weird: Do you even have one, or even an electric truck??

I'd sure like to hear JDCrow's or RickHusting's opinion on what to use in one of these, but come on dude. Let's keep it relevant and on-topic. ;)

xDaRReLLx87 04-03-2009 07:10 AM

No, but was giving some information on what generally is the factory team standard regarding oil wt. That is all my intention was dude
I only have an AE nitro and Losi Electric at this time.

Lightin' 04-03-2009 07:21 AM

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
I could list what generally is the factory team standard for my son's Mini-T
but that wouln't make it any more relevant to the topic at hand either.

Mark,
The Kit comes with a small bottle of 30WT Shock Oil and a 4cc Tube of Black Grease (#6588).

You will want to pick up some Green Slime for the normal build steps we've been doing with all kits. Im sure you have a tube in your box.

Final Chassis Setup is really driver preference, track demands, temperature, etc.

Your Track Conditions may vary and require changes.

Here is a link to Kurts latest Baseline Setup he has been using indoors at OCRC.

Many distributors received their Shipment yesterday and today. These Kits should be available for purchase Mon-Wed. I suspect they wont be on the shelf long and pre-orders will probably wipe out the initial supply.

Great writeup JD. Can you see any real difference between the SC10's trans case and the T4's? Rick Hohwart didn't even know the difference when I asked him  But he did assure me a ball diff would fit in an SC10 and the bevel gear diff will drop right into a T4 or B4.

Just got off the phone with the LHS owner, I'm officially on SC10 Intergalactic Backorder. Early April...yeah, sure :D
