Also, I can't seem to find the answer to the shim fix. The rebuild comes with #9829 shims. Should I add these to the shims already there (double up on both sides) or just replace the ones there with the 9829s?
try 50 weight shock oil. i used in b4.1 rtr and it was very very good..

I've been running the AE hex parts for a couple of weeks and to be honest I haven't noticed much difference in handling, but I'm a novice level driver at best, so I may not even notice any differences.

Default Affordable Motor Suggestions

Running a stock sc10 rtr with a 3300 Reedy motor. Looking for a little more power to make our track's triple. Want to use with the stock esc. Most folks are running the Castle 3800 combo but I want to keep the cost down. Any suggestions on an affordable motor that is also reliable? Thanks

hey guys...looks like im getting bit by the rc bug and the short course bug. I am in the hunt for a factory team sc10. I am going to be running on an indoor clay offroad track. Looking to see if i could find a setup sheet and just some overall tips. Ill likely be running the stock class because it seems to biggest at the local track. I used to race when I was extremely young, and my father was the mechanic, so essentially im a rookie and don't know a whole lot.

1, Find out what tires the local fast guys run. Patterns and compounds.
2. Look for setup sheets that use those tires in the internet.
3. ?????
4. Profit

I read an article 20 years ago, and that's effectively what Cliff Lett suggested save step 2. If it works on those tires it'll work on your track.

Good luck, this has been a fabulous strategy for me. I always unload fast, and always finish in the top 2.

I added 2mm to the front (each side) and 3mm to the rear. It's super stable compared to before, slides better, and traction rolls less.

Did I mention it was faster too?

I ordered a bunch of the JC Hazard wheels for my SC10 and SC10 4x4. With 3mm more width per side this will match the Kyosho which looks very stable on the track.

Can you provide some feedback after you run them? I want to switch from the Rulux wheels, but I have a ton of tires and will find it difficult to switch. I'm also still running the standard hubs up front. As far as I know, the Hazards only come as 12mm hexes.
