Has anyone found a hard case lipo that actually fits this battery tray? I plan on running 4s and the smallest I've found so far is a promatch 5000Mah pack at 47mm, while the tray is 46mm. Of course I could run a 3600mah, but I'd like something at 5000Mah+. I dont understand why it was not made a bit wider to accept more of the larger packs, and probably soon to be 6000-8000 hard cased packs.

Yes, they are the Tekno guards. The holes are drilled straight through with 1/8" bit.
Below is the Nitrohouse link for the side guards.

Two hardcase 2s 5000 packs fit very snug.

It's tight for sure but I can fit the Promatch 5100. Ended up sanding the inside of the battery box as it gets quite hard to pull out when dirt get stuck between battery and box.

Default Elite RC E-Hyper 9 GL

Ok it's been awhile since I posted any of my own personal builds, well for Christmas my lovely wife bought me a Hyper 9 GL, so I've been working on it here & there along with my other unfinished projects..finally I was able to semi finished it up this weekend.. here are some pics, feel free to let me know what you think..

I used the Hyper 9E motor mount since it has the same bolt pattern..

Here you can see all the mods I did, first you'll noticed the motor is to the front right that's due to the nature of the 9E mount,

1) I had to flip the steering servo saver to the left since the motor was to the right, it worked out perfectly..
2) I machined the RX box to hold the Tekein RX8 in place, my futaba RX fit perfectly inside also..
3) Since there was no way of using the stock aluminum front center brace, I made a top plate from carbon fiber, now it's firm & looks like a 1/10 4wd
4) All the wires have been tucked away neatly for a super clean setup..

More views..

Close up of the RX box

View of the front..

I saw one of these tonight on a Hyper 9E and with a 15 the top of the gear teeth would just touch with center bottomed in the inside wall of the slot.

It also didn't have a way to stop the diff bearing allowing the spur the contact the mount?

Have a look at Thunder Power, their 4 cell fits just like a glove when on its side, wires work a treat and they are ROAR legal.
