About thoses NitroHouse backordered pistons.... (after reading other members recommendations)

For the 17mm shocks what alternative we have for the 10-holes pistons, other brand etc ?
And why is the Xray springs are better than the white/blue/gray setup ?

As a newbie in racing, can I use lighter oil instead of more holes in pistons at first ?

I've just bought a mint condition second hand hyper 9e are there any mods I need to do, before bashing/racing? Are there any carbon fibre parts worth getting cheers.

Bashing/Racing , i would forget about carbon. Maybe if you were racing only ?!

Please post a picture of your hyper 9e 'under the hood' so we can check already updaded parts.

Suggestions (from reading multiples forums and very very little racing + bashing)

- Rebuild the shocks (with 40-oil) and adjust for your taste. Consider upgrading to 8-holes 8x1.4mm pistons instead of stock 6-holes, by Vpro ot T-works.
- Put the OFNA/Hobao grey-blue springs in the front and OFNA/Hobao white or grey-blue in the rear. If you want even better response go with XRAY springs. (grey-blue:front, silver or grey-blue: rear)
- Do you have the sideguards ? If not try to install them, buy Tekno ones, they fit quite easy.
- Install a T-Bone-Racing front bumper to protect your 'front'
- 2-pieces rear wing is much more durable than the 1-piece stock wing and cheaper in the long run
- CNC cut Front Top Plate
- CNC Cut Front Chassis Brace
- Universal Steel drive shaft is recommended, the alu. one will bend easily when landing on nose

NitroHouse.com have a great list of hop-ups recommended for the H9e.

Also consider buygin the brand HOBAO from Asia, replacing the first number in OFNA part # with 8 should provide a cheaper alternative for the above upgrades. Hobao and OFNA are the same.

Let us know, and don't forget to share some pictures so we can help you better.

Here's my main H9e/Star-e (orange) (proudly and carefully owned by Daebech2475 before me) and my Hyper 9e hoped-up (white)

Hiya Roy, thank you buddy, just ordered these parts from erichobby... Could you advise on the shocks springs.... Why would they need upgrading? Cheers.

Great !

About the shocks, you'd better start with stocks springs, stocks pistons but make sure it's 40wt oil with grey springs (or white for rear)

and then if you need more performance and tuning, go with 8-holes pistons and XRAY springs .

You should be ok to start with OFNA's springs / pistons.

You know how to adjust the height of the springs ?

WOW it is very clean, almost like it was never used ;-)
Great deal.

Tekno Sideguards #TKR400010

but you'll need to drill 2 holes in the front / back to screw them on each side.
