Chuck, with the motor you're running, just get a couple of these:
http://www.promatchracing.com/proddetail.php?prod=3806
They're light, inexpensive and will easily last a 10min. main. Plus, since the company is located in Arizona, you'll probably get them very quickly.

What I was talking about earlier was the weight advantage you would have by running the 2S with the 540 4 pole Nue Castle motor and a 10th scale ESC as a package. some of that would go away, 5 to 6 oz by using the 1/8th scale motor. couple that with an oz or two from the ESC and another 6oz from a 3S or 10 oz from a 4S. This combo will be 14 to 18 ozs lighter and have good controllable power.
This has got me thinking about carbon this and that's and taking some of the aluminum upgrades off to run 702.
The only time I was there I was in aw with the guys truing to run full boogie 4S monsters on that little track

Went to Revelations last night with team " SUPERHYPER"
...that's what I call them Dj,Gauge,Mark and a couple others.
Got to run the buggy for the first time and it is AMAZING......I doubt there was a faster buggy down the straight and it had the perfect balance of traction and steering.
People said they could hear me laughing over the nitro cars every time I launched it off the GIGANTIC quad.
I will post my write up with team tips tomorrow afternoon so keep an eye out!

I just bought a 9E and it should be here in a couple days but I have a question. I didn't have time to look through the 200+ pages of this thread but I am new to 1/8 scale and I was going to run my MMM/2650 out of another vehicle I have and as of now plan on running 4s lipo. What would be a good starting point for a pinion? I run on a large 1/8 track (Mike's in Porter, TX). Thanks!

3S might be more suitable for your 2650....For a 4S set-up your looking for 1800-1900kv range.
