Default it wont idle right!

my engine runs great, awesome acceleration and top end speed, but if you let it idle for about 10-15 seconds it starts idling really high and the temp jumps way up to like 330, i shut it off and checked the idle needle and it's set right so i dont know what's going on or how to do it

How do you know that the Idle needle is set right? Sounds like you either have an air leak or no compression. Your engine still have good compression? How hot do you normally run it? What engine is it?
