Default Older RC10 World's Car

hey Guys - I saw a thread on someone rebuilding one of these last week, but I could not find it today. The other day I was rummaging through my closet and I came across my old Team Associated World's Car from like 1996 or so! Any suggestions on what I should do with it as far as brushless systems go and whatnot? It would be a shame to let this thing go to waste. I will put some pics up a little later today. Also, anyone know where I could find a body???

I would think any brushless system would work. You might want to go on WTB thread on here or e-bay for the body.

You think a VXL system would work with the stock tranny??

The cars are pretty strong and will take a pretty hot motor. Checkout rc10talk.com for all the info.

I have tried my car with a 17.5 and a 21.5 motor and both work just fine. I have also read that people have used as low as 8 trun motors in the cars with no driveline issues.

They work pretty well with stock power....they are still very good cars.

That'd be my thread!

http://www.rctech.net/forum/electric...n-project.html

I had run a 10.5 turn in my worlds car previously with no issues. I have the Mamba Max 7700 in it right now, but waiting on batteries to give it a run.

Also, I tried to register on RC10talk.com and I am still waiting on the administrator to unlock my account. I have sent them 2 emails with no response.

Edit: I found a body on ebay that was already custom painted. I think trying to find the original Turbo Mirage body is going to be impossible. I dont think they make them anymore. Otherwise, any goldpan body will fit. I have a Viper Body that is beat to hell and then the new one on its way.

If you haven't gotten your activation notice you might want to check your junkmail or spam folder. Sometimes it takes them some time to activate new accounts so pestering them won't help.
Figured I'd give both a shot...can't hurt...

Why do you insist on everyone with a vintage car go elsewhere? Last I checked this is called RCTech.net, not RCNewerTechOnly-VintageGTFO.net

I have one email in my spam folder from RC10talk.com that indicates waiting for the administrator to unlock the account and if you have issues to contact them. I think I have a pretty good handle on what is going.

I found this site over the weekend that had a few parts I needed as well. Last I knew they are having issue with ordering right now. I just sent them an email to find out how I can place an order.

Not meaning to take anything away from this site but over on rc10talk that is all they do vintage stuff, and the specialise in the old RC10's in all their different flavors. Just a lot more detail over there. Kinda like hpibajaform is the place for the Baja and rcgroups is the best site around for air stuff, but helifreak is better for heli specific stuff. Vintage Tamiya has specific sites as well.

The sites that can specialise can....well specialise

im pretty sure you can still get parts and the body through ae, i was there the other night and think i even saw the viper body Any brushless will work, i bought the novak havok with 8.5 combo... its pretty quick and has been hassle free. A few guys had problems a while back with them but apparently they worked the bugs out... Cant beat a esc and motor for 140 bucks....and its sensored...no cogging and it has a voltage cutoff so you dont fry your lipos...

What do you think of throwing a VXL setup in there??

In case you missed it somewhere in the translation I was trying to be helpfull.
I didn't HAVE to post the link to help you out, next time I won't.
It just seems that it would make more sense to be able to go somewhere that you would be able to get information from people that are up on the vintage cars than it would a place where a lot of members had never even heard of something that's 15 years old let alone know anything about it or where to get parts.

But I will make sure and pass your unkind words onto the admin at rc10talk.
