Stick with paint by numbers
jk
Use liquid masks with a cheap air brush- a few layers
Then use a better airbrush for painting

Finally here are pics of my new Slash body.

This is my 2nd RC paint job since I last raced about 14 years ago and was even worse then. LOL

I hope to get some action shots of it this week at the RC track.

Smile paint design

I know you said your a fan of the team look , I wanted some thing that stands out (easy to pick out in a group) I like the team look too ! Was mainly to see how it would look . I'm happy with mine. I was also thinking of a pure window tint design with different levels of tint , maybe silver tint flames and limo tint.

If you want it to stand out don't paint your body like everybody else (red, blue, black, gray,etc......)

This body IS RED, BLACK, AND GRAY. Like i said everybody paints their slashes these colors. You got creative with yours and could pick it out in a race. But if you painted your truck like the picture Darrel put up (yellow and Orange) you would have no problems at all knowing who's car is who's car is on the track.

Here is an example , to make skulls you simply make stencils and gradually shape them up from dark to light.

That's really sharp. did you paint that? It makes me want to pick up an airbrush and learn.

x1

It is also the problem with copy-kat/team truck paint jobs. No creativity, and you show up and someone at the track has one just like yours.

And what if you are really competitive with some guy at the track but his truck is painted red like all the rest. Instead of knocking him off the track you might end up knocking off some up tight pissy guy's truck off the track. Then it might get interesting.
