Default 8ight brushless motor question

Ok, so i began my conversion process today using the losi conversion kit, and i think i found my first problem, i have a feigao 9xl and i think the shaft is too short and it does nto have a flat spot on it, have you guys had this problem? If so what should i do? Thanks,

dremel a flat spot on the shaft.

When dremelling a flat spot on the motor shaft it is a good idea to place the motor inside of a ziplock bag and poke the motor shaft through.
This will prevent any metal filings from going into the motor (being attracted by the strong magnet on the rotor).

Okay, good advice thanks, and one more question is the shaft on that motor too short? cus it looks like it witht he losi motor mount

okay, im guessing its the long shank pinion gear? and how do you tighten the set screw once you have the motor mount on?
