Default TRAXXAS REAR SHOCK MOUNTS

Does anyone know if this will fit on the Slash? It says it is for the Stampede/Rustler, but my LHS says it will work...

OK I've got a good answer for you.

I went on the Traxxas site and looked up the part #'s. The Slash and the Rustler have the same part # for the rear shock tower Part# 3638. So it SHOULD work if it really is for a Rustler.

I'm a bit suspicous as the rustler/slash has a horizontal mounting plate where your picture doesn't. There may be an extra part that is not shown. I know the integy aluminum shock towers are two piece.

The part number the LHS gave me is a 4138, which is why I'm confused....

Who makes the part? It's not going to have the same part# as the one from the Slash/Rustler even if it is made by Traxxas, because it's a different part.

I would give Traxxas a call, their customer service is supposed to be REALLY good.

As far as the tower it's self, I don't know if it's up to the task of the kind of abuse that the Slash goes through. Even if you're just doing some light bashing with the stock setup, that truck is heavy and a few roll overs might crack the tower... but I could be wrong. God knows it wouldn't be the first time.

the nitro and ep rustlers use a completely different tower than the slash.
