Default losi 1/10 desert buggy vs traxxas slash

I am split between a slash and a desert buggy. I would be for bashing and some racing. a big decider would be if the losi is waterproof like the slash. also how heavy duty is the losi? i have heard the slash is pretty indestructible. also would be interested in other off road electrics in the $200 price range, preferably waterproof. any input is appreciated.

Get the Slash. There's more racing done with the Slash, plus the Losi DT is ghey. That's coming from a Losi fan

for bashing the losi just isn't as strong as the slash, plus the slash looks really cool going around the track. everybody in the pits at my local track come out to watch when we race them.

If you want a tough water resistant toy, get the Slash. If you want a racer, get the DT, it's based on a race bred chassis, the slash is based on a monster truck(high CG, poor handling, I guess you could call it "Scale"). If you plan to race in the slash class, the choice is clear.

bet I could beat you in that desert truck if you drove a slash any day
but I just race them , however, at least with the Losi you have a safe 2.4 radio, the lights on the truck actually light up as well. Both trucks are fun to drive around. If you crash constantly get a slash, if you race hard and well get the Losi Both are pretty durable to me unless you purposely crash it or attempt to put a way bigger motor than what makes any sense to use and hit the wall, tree, or light post, or even stop sign or ditch.

However the slash that I drove with this setup ran pretty well.

Toe-2.5 out
Camber- (-2 front and -1 in rear)
40wt oil in rear and 45wt in the front
max angled shock angles in the front - stock in rear
higher spring rate in the front

^ that ran really well on the track for a slash.

The losi ran just as well with a similar setup, but is more like a 2wd buggy with speed-T parts and stadium truck body. It doesn't really matter what I drive to drive it good, but I can say the slash is more durable, but both are fun, just a personal preference. Least with the Losi you can upgrade to Graphite arms, I would just get the XXX ball cups and put nuts under the ballstud instead of washers and it's more durable than a slash. I never really liked anything from Traxxas.

Yeah but if your going to race the DT and buy all the graphite parts....why don't you just get a XXX-T? I don't like that the DT is pretty much just a XXX-T with a bunch of garbage on it.

Don't get me wrong, I KNOW the Slash has some parts off of it that are off of other Traxxas cars, but I think that it's a bit more different than the typical Stampede.

Now when I get back to the states, I'll probably pick up a XXX-CR, and a XXX-T CR for racing as I think they are good cars... but I'll pass on the ghey Desert Truck
