What are a good set of batteries for this rig? I was thinking a set of SMC 2s 4100mah lipos. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Im not willing to spend $300+ on maxamps either.

A pair of yeah racing 2s 5kmah lipos would probly be a good fit. You can pre-order them for like $75 a pack.

I've run Enerland 2 X 2S 25C 5100mAh packs in mine as well as NeuEnergy 2 X 3S 25C 4900mAh packs. They both run great in the truck. You can pick up the Enerland packs for $89.99ea from rclipos.com. At $180/pr, it's really a hard setup to beat.

Sweet vid's. Thanks for posting!

I wouldn't go with the 4100's as I tried a set as soon as I got the truck and the power output from the packs is really good but the runtime isn't anything to brag about. This truck sucks the juice and I would recommend at least 5000mAh plus. Our 5200mAh 24C packs are selling for $85, pt.# 5224LD. These are the packs that several of hpi's marketing, & promotion guys use(John Schultz, Collin Coccores, just to name a few). No matter what brand you choose, def. go with 5000 or more mAh.

The people asked, and hpi really delivered with this truck. Insane power, endless durablitity, and an absolute blast to drive.

ok thanks for all the help. I was looking at a ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 5S1P 30C. Also a pair of ZIPPY Flightmax 5000mAh 3S1P 25C. I will check out the Smc and enerland bats as well. Are these batteries any good (zippy)?

Some folks have had success with the Zippys. Other have had quality issues where balance wires break off and such.

If you're on a budget, the packs I'd recommend for 2 X 2S are the SMC 24C 5200mAh or the Enerland 25C 5100mAh.
