Default 808 brushless setup

Hey All,
I am going to convert one of my 808s this year to electric for a 3rd class and have a few questions:

1) I was thinking of 7s1p A123s matched with a NEU 1509/2Y/f 1820kv motor. Does anyone have experience with a similar setup and if so, what kind of runtimes are you gettting?

2) What kind of gearing would be a good starting point?

Any constructive comments are appreciated keeping in mind this setup is to competitively race and not hit 70mph in a parking lot.
Thanks,
Kane

Skip the a123's, they will be too heavy. The 1509 works, but is not recommended. The motor is a tad too small unless your car is very light and your track very small, you WILL have heat issues. The 1512 size can is the appropriate size for a buggy. If you want 1800kv, go with the 1512 1.5y. A great motor, but hard to get a hold of. The alternative is the 1900kv motor that Tekin is supposed to release in a few weeks.

Thanks again for the info. I just ordered the setup you recommended in your PM. I can't wait to give it a try.
Thanks,
Kane
