MBX6 Electric Conversion/Motor Selection

Hey!

I am new to this forum and fairly new to off-road racing. I am looking to convert a MBX6 to electric and was hoping people that have accomplished this could give me some pointers.

Also, I am trying to decide on a motor/esc that would dominate on the track. Money is no object for this buggy. I was thinking about the new TekinRX8 /Redline T8 combo but am unsure between getting the 2250 or 2650. So if anyone has input on either topic that would be great!

P.S. I will be racing at a large scale clay outdoor track with some monster jumps, The FarmII.

I would go lower KV and run 5s.

Also, stock up on Lower AND upper a arms, and the inner wheel bearings. I have gone through 4 lower arms, 2 upper arms, and 6 inner wheel bearings.

Thanks for the post Thuren.

What is the advantage of this? What conversion kit did you go with?

If you need to be R.O.A.R. legal you have to run 4 cell (in a hard case). With 4 cell, a 2200Kv too 2600Kv motor would be the range you need. I don't care about ROAR. I run A Neu 1512 3df (1700kv) with 6S 2600 mAh cells in my MBX6. The mains at our local track are all 10 min or less. I used the RC Products design MBX5 conversion kit (required me to drill some new mounting holes in conversions battery tray but not a big deal). I'm using the Mamba Monster ESC's in all my set-ups.

P= I x V
P= Power
I= current
V=voltage

If "V" goes up, "I" goes down to get the same amount of power.

More efficent.

I've had my X6 since september, run it every weekend. Have'nt broken to much stuff.

I wanted to get everyones input on a top notch steering servo for the mbx6. I will be driven on clay.

I have a converted mbx6 and have had very good luck with it. The Mugen is VERY durable. I used a RC Monster Mugen MM with a locally built top plate . I use the neu 2.5 d (2050kv) w/5s5000mah(zippy) and can run 22 min. Although most nitro set ups include the mugen soft springs I have left the stock med.on the buggy because of the wt.
