I run the poly rc 11.1v 4500mah 30c lipo. I get around 40min even when i am hard on the throttle. It makes the vxl slash INSANE!!! You can't keep the front wheels on the ground.

Default VXL Owners - Please Help

Not sure if this is the correct forum, if not I apologize... :/

Just got a new VXL 3s System for my Slash.

I am currently running my VXL on a Racer's Edge 2s 5000mAH LiPo with stock Slash gearing and pretty much everything else stock except for shock upgrades and a new transmitter / reciever.

After a full charge on my Racer's Edge SC2000 getting exactly 5000mAH into the pack using the balance charge setting and using the balancer lead to charge and balance the pack, I go out to run my truck in an empty gravel parking lot...

After about 15 minutes of light bashing, the Slash stops running and the LED on the ESC was blinking red.

Now I did not have the manual with me at the time so I did not know there was a difference between fast blinking and slow... however the Slash just stopped responding period, so I am assuming it was the Thermal Shut Down that kicked in and not the Low Voltage Cutoff ...
( Does this sound correct? )... because I did not get the 50% power stage, just bam.. nothing ..

It was about 65 degrees out where I am at and I also have the Traxxas Fan on the ESC running at all times.. I am not sure how it could have been the Thermal Shut Down when the sides of the ESC's heat sink did not even feel hot and the motor was warm but not so bad that I could not hold my thumb on it.

Thanks in advance for anyone that can help me diagnose this problem, and let me know if you need any more info. Once again, sorry if this post is in the wrong place.. :/

wrong place to post but i know what your experiancing , you prob have a problem with the speed control and need to send it back to traxxas , turn off the low voltage cutoff i think you have to hold the button down for ten seconds and youll have a red light on instead of green but also be carefull not to let your battery go down too much or it will be toast man. its a known vxl problem but i bet if you try it with the low voltage setting offf it will run much better.
