I bought a xxx-4+g for these reasons.

My 4000 mah lipos fit with very little modification. To get my SMC 5200 to fit it will take some work.

You could also get a kyosho laser sp which uses a stick pack.

The laser would be hard to find for under $200 used, but I got my XXX4 for under $200.

While the XXX-4 certainly isn't new, I think it's still a perfectly adequate platform to race with...I know I do. I think driving makes a bigger difference than technology.....then again, I'm still racing an original XXX-T from 2000.

Durga drivetrain is very similar to the full-competition 501X, unfotunately they don't include the good parts with the DB01's, so most people would add slipper clutch, UJ's, steel diff outdrives, which pushes the price up a fair bit.

HPI's new Cyber 10B might be an interesting choice when it comes out. No idea on parts quality or standard spec though.

never said it was a bad car just said its old and was belt driven + i know sponserd losi guys and they mod the hell out of the belt box and mod other parts to make it better thing guys like us wouldent think of unless you new them. where as the kyosho is dialed right out of the box. no mods.

the durga does end up getting expensive. plus also think of part support at your track. almost no one sells tamiya parts at the track.

and no one knows about the hpi.

Love my ZX5 and I regularly finish behind (and occasionally in front of) the Cats at our track. Can't go wrong with either of those IMO. Regardless of your choice, they are all going to break when you're running Mod.

I got my xxx-4 +g with tons of spares, tires, a servo, 2 bodies, and a 3600 lipo for $170.

I am selling an original BJ4 that I fitted a battery compartment from a TC4 into. The battery compartment fits perfectly.

http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...0-shipped.html

The best part of the BJ4 is that it has surprising strong parts support. You can still buy every part on this vehicle at Tower, Horizon, or directly from JConcepts.

The only reason I'm selling it is because a barely used B44 practically fell into my lap and I couldnt pass it up.
