A post from Rick Hohwart on another forum said that the team drivers preferred those shocks given the choice. Something about weight...

"Testing shows that 1/8 electric cars work better at lower weights. You will want to use the plastic shocks as they are lighter than the aluminum versions. That is what AE team drivers use if given a choice."

This kit is only round 400. thats why so cheap part wise. by the time u by all the PRO parts on it...it will be the same price as buying the rc8t pro version anyway. so no real big worrys.

Yeah but,it has aluminum shock towers,steel turn buckles, I was hoping for at least the carbon towers. I notice Sean Cochran running those plastic shocks at my indoor track. He broke a cap once but still runs them. I think they will better protected in the truck. Price is good though. I have always liked the layout of the radio tray...Nice job guys

The RC8e buggy will have plastic shocks.

Choosing to use an item that may wear out more quickly to gain performance is not a new concept. I just want to be sure that racers don't ditch the plastic shocks immediately because they think they are a disadvantage.
