I think all the RC8T come with steel steering post i believe i dont see the point in buying the alum ones i mean how much weight are you really going to lose in the truck lol. Now the RC8.2 wing mount sounds good i will buy one and try it out its supposed to be for easyier access to the rear diff i believe . I think also it prevents the high downforce stock wing from touching the top of the rear shock caps when the wing is moved foward .

So I have mt 8TE running, and I am very happy with it.
The BL system, IMO isn't quite up to what I really want for power, but it does the job. IF I wanted to use my truck for light-hearted competition and keep it to a 3S or 4S, what should I choose?
I don't want to be a total sheep and do the Mamba thing. Though they are a great option. I also read pretty good things about the Hobbywing stuff. The one I have isn't the programmable one, but I think its designed to run 4S, and I want the option of doing 3 OR ?s batteries.
I've also looked at the Tekin and orion, but I just can't decide. I'm also trying to keep it close to what i already know. IE i run SpeedPassion in my 2wd and 4wd offroad setups, but i hear some horror stories about the SP 8th scale stuff.
Thoughts.

Use only for 4s for a E-Truggy or you risk puffing lower cell packs.
As for esc ive only ran castle esc and motors a 2200kv but as extra electronics i will be looking at the hobbywing system.
I whould get a Tekin for customer service and the support on here and its sensored much smoother than the castle thats sensoredless. For the price the hobbywing looks really good and have heard good things about it although your not going to get the same warranty or support like castle and tekin. The speed passion ive never seen anybody run them but the motor on them look small and the shaft looks short but they sell the hell out of them.
What kv motor and lipo cells have you been running ?

Going from 7k to 5k in the rear will make the rear rotate faster, but the rear won't feel as planted.

Personally I prefer the Tekin as it can be used censored or censor-less, its programmable and Tekin has great customer service. Its more expensive but, IMO well worth it.
Second would be MMM (again my opinion) as they are less expensive but are of high quality.
Third, honestly I wouldn't consider anything other than the above.
As for your batteries, 4 cell minimum.
Just my opinion....

Maple: use 5k on the rear end yes it will make the rear end looser but controllble works ok on loose dusty tracks at a point . I use 7,10,5 on my RC8TE.
gearing on a 48t spur im not sure but 14t-15t pinion sounds good.

I just got finished converting my truck to electric and I used almost all the same stiff that came on the truck except the motor mount which I had a spare to put in and the battery tray so instead if spending 80 bucks on a conversion I spent like 10 bucks on the battery tray so If u r going to convert the truck from nitro to electric u really don't need to buy much
#445

Take a look at the Hitec 7954 sh servo.
#446

hey guys i just brought me self a rc8t ce and going to convert it in to ep for bashing and racing which conversion is best to go with
#447

Tekno rc8t v4 kit very high quality and a nice large low gravity battery tray much better than the assoicated conversion kit !
And the axles and drivecups they provide will never wear out any time soon .

thanks tc5 man yeah should i do same with a rc8be full upgrade to go with a tekno v4
