Yatabe Arena Int'l Off-Road Grand Prix 2009
I recently checked the Yatabe Arena home page: http://www.yatabearena.com/information/index.html and saw that the 2009 Int'l Off-Road Grand Prix is scheduled for Feb 28th through March 1st. I will be going with my friend Youzo. Youzo is a big Tebo fan so I hope he'll be there this year. Does anyone know what factory drivers will be there this year? I will post more info here as I get it.

Hey guys, does anyone know the dimensions of their offroad track. Their track looks really fun and challenging. Will there be any AE drivers there.

I'm doing great here. Been snowboarding a lot because I can't race up here in the frozen lands of Tohoku. The only indoor track is in Hirosaki, a 3hr drive and is TC
I'm still an AE guy...I'll be racing my B4 and my Azarashi Mid44. If you can get Hot Bodies to send you you should come with Travis and Jesse.
Also I'm heading to Korea next July for a year. I hope I can come back to Japan, near Tokyo, so I can be a Yatabe regular
I'll PM you cell incase your going to make it.
Cheers!
Josh
Danny,
Last year Cavalieri was there and there is many Japanes AE drivers that were there as well.

The race name has been changed to "Reedy International Race of Champions"
The race is open for registration now. Please visit www.yatabearena.com/yatabe/reedy.pdf for the sign-up form.
Please note if you are using 2.4GHz you need to use 2.4GHz that is Japanese spec. If you are using Airtronics even thought it is Japanese it is a US spec. From what I understand the US spec 2.4g is much stronger than Japanese spec.
Fri, Feb 27 is open practice
Sat, Feb 28th is 2WD races
Sunday is 4WD races
It is sure to be a fun weekend. I hope you can make it.

Thanks nsr! Event sounds great - hopefully my business trip lines up with it! Ive been there a couple of times in the past for practice but never for a race.
A few questions:
- are lipos legal?
- is Brushless legal?
- is it a control tyre event?
I have a 2.4GHz Ko system so I presume that will be OK.
Any word on who will be in the invitational class?

Here are the answers to your questions:
Are lipos legal? No, Only Ni-Mh batteries. This was a bummer for me too.
Is Brushless legal? Yes
Is it a control tire event? Yes, tires will be sold at the event.
I have a 2.4GHz Ko system so I presume that will be OK. You should be OK. The way it was explained to me is that 2.4GHz systems for the us have a higher wattage than is allowed in Japan. This is true even for Ko Propo. The Ko, Sanwa or Futaba 2.4GHz modules and receivers sold in Japan are different than the Ko 2.4GHz for the US.
Any word on who will be in the invitational class? I have no idea yet I'm sure you see all the top Japanese racers but I don't know what US racers will be there. Maybe Cavalieri and Tebo. I hope there will be more though. I will ask some of the Japanese racers if they know what international racers are confirmed.

Thanks for the help nsr.
Is it a control tire event? Yes, tires will be sold at the event.
- Which tyres will be used?
The Ko, Sanwa or Futaba 2.4GHz modules and receivers sold in Japan are different than the Ko 2.4GHz for the US.
- I got mine from Australia. I will have to find out if it is OK.
