GEAR CHART FOR IPHONE - GEARIT!
GEARIT is now available through the App Store for Apple Iphone.
The initial program isn't that fancy, but it gets the job done. The initial edition is preloaded with around 75 cars. You are able to select the spur, pinion, car type (gear box ratio), and tire diameter (for foams). You do this with the touch screen and scroll bar. For those not using foams, you would just ignore the rollout and tire size...as this doesn't matter.

Thinking about buying it for rollout calculations, but can the trans ratio be dropped down to zero for direct drive cars? Also can the tire diameter be set in increments less than mm or at least out to 1 or 2 decimal places?
I race pan cars as well as off-road and typically deal with .01 inches or smaller tire diameter increments. Since 1mm is roughly .04in, that's not accurate enough.
Thanks!

I got the app last night and it works great! I had to unjailbreak my phone first since this requires apples software 2.2.1 but I rejailbroke it and lifes all good again!

It would be useful to have a "tab" that a user could click on to get a "suggested" Final Drive Ratio for a specific motor. This would provide the user a starting point to achieve and then fine tune from there.
The number of cars is limited but it's growing!

It is a nice app, but the ratios for the B3 and T3 are incorrect. It would be nice to be able to add you own custom cars to the list. Overall it is a nice little app. I had written something similiar to it on my TI-85 calculator except it wasn't nearly as cool as this one.
