http://www.redrc.net/2009/02/traxxas...rship-of-torc/ This is an awsome step for the RC industry to move in. Great for everyone involved in RC.

I'm not a huge Traxxas fan but it is great for R/C!!!!!

Very smart move, no doubt that this was to take momentum off the SC10 and any other manufacturer to soon release a CORR type truck.

thats gonna be sick to be able to watch r/c races on tv!!!

maybe with being a title sponser they could do a segment during each brodcast dedicated to r/c. Did it say what channel its going to show on?

TORC is essentially the "new" CORR.
CORR basically went out of business with the banking collapse...the owners of CORR are OC real estate developers and you can probably guess how they're doing at the moment. All the major CORR pros got together with some of the CORR management and put together their own series.
Rick Huseman is gonna have the big boy TRD motor this year...look out...no more 330inch DOHC motor...
...andYAY for Traxxas!!!

Interesting, looks like they took title sponsorship or some kind of merger/partnership/ownership thing of last year's World Series of Off Road Racing (WSORR) and added some southwest venues...smart move getting that series out towards the west coast where I'm guessing more teams are located?
I watched a few of the WSORR events on TV. They didn't seem to have a heck of a lot of Pro 4X4 participation so the Pro 2WD was their main event. Still, racing is racing and I'm glad to see the exposure growing.
It will be interesting to see what kind of drama unfolds between CORR and TORC. Are these guys working behind the scenes to grow short course racing or will their be some kind of power struggle? Should be interesting.

CORR...if not dead...is in the ICU in a deep coma. There isn't any conflict with them. My understanding is that the new deal was done with the cooperation of the CORR owners. They may be back at some point, but it would likely be as a part of the new organization, not in competition with it.
It's not associated in any way with WSORR...that was a deal that popped up to replace the CORR events when they moved out this way. From what I've heard, WSORR is dead and gone.
I'm still waiting for Horizon to get more Huseman trucks...LOL.
I've also been hearing rumors that Traxxas may pick up a big-name driver in Pro-4.
