Default What Next? - Slash

Hey guys.

I have a Traxxas Slash, stock with a 7 cell 4500 Rocketpack. I need to buy a new charger but was wondering what would be the next hop-up I should do.

I was thinking:

1) Another 7 cell NiMH
2) New body
3) Buying a Rustler VXL to interchange parts (and to have two trucks)
4) Going brushless

Looking for your recommendations. I would still like to keep it for the stock racing classes at the track. But the brushless option always seems enticing.

Thanks!

Novak is now shipping our 4 new Havoc Spec brushless systems (10.5, 13.5, 17.5, 21.5) featuring our ROAR-approved spec racing motors for a budget friendly price of $149.99.

It all depends on what you plan to do with the Slash. I tend to do the necessities for racing purposes. If you only have one battery, definitely get another so you can drive while the other one is charging. The bodies are usualy pretty tough on those trucks. I wouldn't replace it until you need to. Getting another truck is fun too, but that's double the maintenance. I'd get a few spare parts in the bags for the Slash. Brushless is awefully nice to have, but if your budget is limited like most of us and it's not legal for racing, I'd wait on that one. If you're a basher and wants lots more run time, get the brushless system. You can usually put it into another vehicle later. Good luck with your choice.

Default Batteries

Thanks guys.

Should I pick up another Orion Rocketpack to go with my first?

Also, what track-legal hop-ups should I be looking for?

Thanks,

Matt

If you need a new charger any way, buy an upgraded one then get a lipo battery down the road.

Next the Havok system.

If you dont want lipo, buy a better cell battery. Such as the SMC 4600 cells. Just my .02
