No they require a power supply. I wouldn't worry though you can get inexpensive power supplies from almost anywere!

Most better quality chargers do not plug into the wall.

Just get an Onyx 230 if you want to plug into the wall and have full featured charging.

Correct!! Most people have a separate 12 V power supply to power their chargers or they use a 12 V battery - like a car battery when at an outdoor track with no electricity provided.

I use OFNA DC12 V, 18 A power supply and a 6 channel 12v power strip from
integy.
I have 3 ICE chargers and 3 RC vehicles and the power supply works good for all 3 ICE.

Most of the newer fully featured chargers that do plug in are only 50 Watts, so you start seeing limitations with respect to the the speed at which these chargers can take a higher volatage, higher capacity batteires to full charge.

With RTRs coming out designed for 6S LiPo, you need powerful chargers to get these batteries to capacity in an hour.

ICE is still getting the job done for me as my highest-voltage R/C is a 4S setup
