I just got a new B44 too and can't wait to build it and run! The B44 post on this page should answer all your questions. To fix the hinge pin rubbing into chassis, insert a 3mm set screw and cut the pin by same length as set screw. Check out the B44 post, it is explained in there and some pics on post #33. As far as the brushless set up....I'm also looking around and most have suggested the LRP Sphere for ESC and I get several different answers on motor choice...some say stick to Novak motors, some like the LRP's. I am planning on getting the LRP Sphere TC and a 7.5 motor.

1. I run a novak 6.5 and it has a bunch of power but you can get any good company (Novak, LRP, Tekin) and all will be good and the range of motor to get would be 5.5-7.5
2. I run a 20t pinion with the 6.5 and i know people have said they run 21t with 7.5's so somewhere in there and you can be close to adjust to your liking.
3. The newer arms (if you get a spare set) have a built in hinge pin catcher so they dont slide back and hit the chasis
