Default LRP 1/8 scale brushless system????

It looks like LRP will be entering the game!

Motor is reported to be much smaller than the competition and the ESC is the same size as their 1/10 ESC's...

I am definitely interested in this. Wonder what the eta is and how much. Most likely either this or the tekin rx8 will end up in my next 8th scale. I have been very happy with both of their esc's in my 10th scale cars.

You guys will be dissapointed. LRP did not do their homework at all. If you want a similar set up, but a bit better, just get a Novak HV motor and use any of the good ESCs that can do both sensored and sensorless (Incase the sensor plug comes out in a off-road race) and you're set.

And you have come to the conclusion from 1st hand experience with their not yet released items?I am curious too if they will do it right, but will not dismiss their new product aimed at the 1/8 market until its proven they suck like you say they do.I don't particularly like the option of running a novak HV motor and LRP TC.I think the combo is too fragile.I have seen nothing but issues with people running 3 cell and this combo with constant motor issues/failures.Lets hope they figure it out.I kind of think that trying to fit the same speedcontrol into a sphere TC package shows you may be correct, butWe'll have to wait and see.

I'm raising an eyebrow on the size of their components... Can a motor that size put out the same amount of torque as my Neu?

Oh yeah, never mind it looks like their using a 1/10th scale ESC with new stickers...

I want the Tekin anyway.

I really hope they really did their homework. I just saw another buggy which has to be the best set up yet out there, but the motor they might offer with the kit looks to be the Hacker clone type. I've been doing this for a while to actually tell you what will and what will not work. The only system that will prove to be good will be the Tekin RX8, which will be similar to what Aveox used to offer back when they used to be in the RC industry.

I seriously doubt that a company like LRP will just throw a product out to market before testing it thoroughly.
Just look at the success of their touring car ESC's. As for as tc ESC's go, they are the benchmark.
I've raced their products for the last 7 years and dont ever remember anything not working as stated straight from the start ...even with insanely low winds... brushless or brushed.

Time will only tell though.

Either way you look at it...the more big names in the 1/8 EP game...the better for us consumers. They (LRP,Castle,Tekin) will only drive each other to create a better product!

Lets wait and see...
