You have to bypass most chargers safety features to even charge at the wrong voltage at this point.... lipo's don't ever have issues charging if you charge at the correct voltage setting. Understand the battery = no issues. About the only other thing that could possibly go wrong is a short and you can do that in or out of the vehicle charging or not charging if you are careless.. don't be careless; give respect where it is due and you will NEVER have an issue

Lipos go when they want and it has nothing to do with the charger being set wrong. Charge them out out of a vehicle in a lipo bag. Until you see it happen you will not understand. I saw it occur three times this summer at different tracks and all were on the charger. I am the lipo tester for ROAR and can tell you from cutting many open it does not take much for one to go off.

Just bought some 4" x 6" 1/8" brass to make the rear lower center weight. It cost about the same as ordering one, but I have enough material for 8 of them. I might use the excess for my other rc cars. I have a question, do any of you use two sets of batteries when you race? I always have two sets because I don't like charging a hot battery, and have never puffed a battery either. I know it is a hassle to remove them.

Has anyone seen the new Reedy SQ pack they are using in the new Associated B5M? I hope someone like SMC or Hobby King makes something similar soon…..Has anyone seen anyone else making something similar?
Happy New Years!

Side note, my experience says balance charging is better so I've opted for multiple packs and probably a second charger (dual charger) so I can only do balance charging.
Should we move this discussion to the battery charger/battery forum?

SMC announced they have ordered tooling to make a square pack that should be available in the next few months.

A square battery sounds cool, and I hope it fits. I charge at whatever the charger recommends for the mah rating. I have had very good luck with batteries, even with a not so hot charger before. I bet the new square battery can hold a higher mah rating because of its size. I found out for me it is easier to remove them for charging than leave them in. You guys are right, once you get used to it, not a problem. I never race with just one pack. This Saturday will be my first race, and I know a big learning curve is coming. I will keep it smooth this weekend to make it easier on myself. Any of you guys racing in the JConcepts St. Louis bash coming up? They are expecting over 300, and last year had a H main for 4x4 buggies!!!

Has this class always been this big. I have noticed that since the DEX410 came out, everybody at my track is getting on board. Also, this is the biggest indoor class as well, at the big races.

Guys ran the new UJ and F/R v4 arms as well. First impression......love the u-joints. New front arms not so much. Broke one in the first Q. After further inspection, it seems that TD notched the arm out for more clearance when the rim/tire is turned. What this means is it is thinner and broke off right there. I will be running the older style front arms until they revise this section.

Wow I can't run anything bigger than an 18 with my 6.5 or it gets hot.
