what should I run for droop? Full extension, or wind it down? Hopefully I can get to the track thursday and play around before friday racing.

22mm in the front, 33 mm in the rear. Measure from base of shock cap on the bottom of the shock body to the top of the bottom shock mount where the threads stop. It's shown this way as length on the setup sheets.

I was just wondering would I need different oils in the diffs for stock vs mod? I am running stock pistons and stock springs. What would be a good starting place for oils for shocks and diffs? Running on a high grip outdoor 1/10th track with a few jumps. Any input is greatly appreciated. Cheers Jay

Run it as is and see how it feels. Then probably post what you need out of the car for you and we can probably help.

Looking at getting into 4wd. Am I better off trying to find a good used v3 or just get a new v4. I'm leaning towards the v4. I just don't a whole lot about this buggy. Still doing some reading. Lol

Any tips tricks ideas would be great.

Thanks,
DC

Since you are new, I recommend buying new. Then you learn it as you build and not worry about any problems from a previous owner.

That's what I'm leaning towards. Just didn't know what hopups. And they seem pricey. From what I've read seems like the hoops and rear brass weight

Thanks,
DC

I bought used because of the deal I was offered. I will use the money saved for batteries and other stuff. I still need some bearings and will get the Avids. I am going low key on mine as I don't need stupid power. I run on a small indoor track, so I put a Tekin RS and Gen2 13.5 in it, and will use Gens Ace 4600 25c batteries. I do not plan on going that fast and hate replacing parts. I just want something that is very controllable.

Rear brass weight yes. Hoops are not necessary. Between myself and sons, we have three and they had the stock hoops over two years with no issues. Mine was aluminum from day one.

Are you using all three brass weights?

Just the rear. The other two can make the car hard to correct off some jumps. The additional weight with them causes too much momentum to counteract in my opinion.

I totally agree with you here. I ran all three weights on my car when I first got it. Then one day I was talking to one of the faster guys at my track and he suggested I try it without the side weights and it was a noticeable difference. Never put them back on since.
