So who sells decent aluminum clamp-style wheel hexes the cheapest. I've seen then for $32 for 4, but that's been the cheapest.

Exotek makes a hex that locks the pin with a set screw http://www.exotekracing.com/dex210-d...locking-hex-2/ otherwise it's Tresrey http://www.tsrproducts.com/index.php...t-tytd076.html

Has anyone tried the viper vtx10 with a 6.5 motor in the dex410v3? Would the esc be able to handle it or would it overheat?

My friend runs it in his b44.2 and it's fine. I was hoping I could on the dex so I don't have to spend the extra money on the vtx10r

hi guys, trying to confirm something for 12mm wheel hex conversion:
does the old dex410 front hex the 12mm hex that fits both front and rear?
http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...heel-Hex-Set-2

*some said old dex410 has 12mm hex in the front.
*from some pictures, it seems front and rear fits the same hex.

front is not that important, but I really want to share the rear wheels with my 2wd buggies.

Yes the current cars have the same hex front and rear. The first model v1 had smaller hexes on the front.

So what part will allow you to run 12mm wheels in the front and rear?

The joint end of the dogbone shaft, the thin round part that houses the barrel/pin. I replaced the entire CVD each time to keep things fresh but I probably could have just replaced the shaft.

I had a pair go on me the first time out, this was around the V3 release date. I traced it back to the grub screw on the diff output allowing the output to slack and put added stress on the cvd. Used red loctite on the grub, and have never had an issue since.

Looking sharp BillyT!

I know it's virtually pointless but painting your wing to match would really finish this thing off nicely. Can continue with the white and finish it in the yellow color or just paint the whole thing in either of the colors.

Also diggin' those Borrego wheels in Black. I dyed all my Durango wheels black as I am going to a Black white and fluorescent purple scheme, wiring and all and felt the black wheels would make for the toughest look.

Dying the wing yellow tonight... Should match the windows pretty well and be a lot more durable than paint. I had literally just finished cutting it out and wanted to get a pic with it on before I headed home.

FWIW, you can dye these things just like you dye wheels. They stay transparent, too. Well... I have never dyed a body or 1/10th wing, but I have tinted helmet shields with rit dye and it worked perfect, so worth a shot.

Pics when it's done.

Interesting idea. Can't believe I never thought of that!!!

I can imagine it will make the rear more visible as light passes through it. Will definitely be dying my new Vortex wing Poipull!!!

I'll let you know how it works out, getting it done tonight.

If the dye doesn't work, it will at least get candy yellow spaz stix like the windows.

Well... That didnt work... Wing barely took any color. Read something about miixing acetone with the dye and doing it cold. Might try that on the next wing.

Ended up painting it candy yellow. Pics of it mounted tomorrow. Should have this thing up and running too.
