hi all

i used 2 x plastic washers on the front shocks and runs great
also have tekin rs pro giving loads of room
then i changed to shorty packs and saved 100 gramm ( 4oz ) approx off the weight

now i takes off

running 5 hole piston ( 1 of the six glued over ) with 30 wt oil brilliant over bumps

Sorry for the newb question but I just bought a dex410 2010 spec will any 4x4 buggy rims fit our set up hex in the front pin in the rear ? Also do they make a rear hex conversion kit thanks

Team Durango has upgraded to 14mm hexes front and rear (410v3 and 210). Only Durango and DE provide rims that fit this new larger size hex.

The most popular hex size for non TD cars is 12mm and you could convert, but be aware that the rim off-set for the 12mm hexes could made the car's overall wheelbase narrower.

I dont think the Durango is meant for 17.5, due to its weight. But I use the Venom 3800 60c mounted dead center under the rear driveshaft.

Its been touched on before, but you can use the old style front hexes and rear drive pin setup with a shortened pin to use b44 wheels, or use the JC rear hex to run 12mm hex ae wheels.

The AE B44 front hexes & hardened pins work perfect too. Just use the big AE blue or TD gold spacer that is used for the wing.

I've been cleaning up and consolidating my RC cars; buying and selling here and there. As a result I have a nice 410v3 and a dex 210 that I am getting ready for the track in addition to my RB5 and T4 (and then some).

I have 3 speed controls to use over the two cars; RS pro, R10 pro (2-3/160A), and RS (brand new in package btw).

My first priority will be to pick what goes in the 410v3; the RS pro or the R10 pro. Any thoughts? I thought the R10 pro is supposed to be smoother (have not tried it yet), but the RS pro is a bit smaller. I have a small receiver so assuming I can fit either, I'd enjoy people's input.

Then the next question would be what to stick in the 210? Would I stick the RS in it or one of the above (which seems overkill)? At least initially, I'll run stock.

Probably not a big deal here, but maybe some people have experience or knowledge that would be helpful in deciding before I go do some soldering.

Honestly, and this may be a tad biased, but the Tekin with the new 223 software is as smooth as I have felt, and I have run the Orion that you also have. On the plus side, the Tekin has a smaller footprint as you stated, having a smaller switch and cap..but, that is JMO. Not knocking the Orion at all, they are good, but their Customer service is a little in question..
An RS in the 210 is a perfect fit also, I have tekin esc's in both my Durango's, so if you need some inspiration, I can post a pic or 2..

I found a deal on a used v3 with alot of extras and I found another good deal on b44

Just picked up the 410 original kit, not the v3. Got a deal, and apparently the big bores aren't the greatest.

What stuff might I need to know about this, setup wise, or stuff I need to get, change, whatever?

I don't have a b44, but if you search these forums the general consensus is that both are good cars but that the v3 is noticeably more durable.

I've owned a few 4wd buggies and durability is an issue more so than in 2wd buggies. The cars are generally run modified (no real stock buggy classes), go fast and have that added weight which can add up to greater forces on the car's parts.

You can find good deals on both, but I'd go for the durango based on durability alone. You'll learn how to be competitive with either, but more track time and less down time is .

Also, the durango just looks so much more freakin advanced even if it's in some ways a shrunken 1/8th scale.
