okay guys. Question...

I notice the pros are running high diff fluid 10k 10k and Lutz is in the 30k's. Can someone explain the cars performance regarding high vs low diff fluid? I run 5k / 3k. What would say 10k / 10k do? I suppose I would change the fluid and test but will check her first.

The heavier diff fluids make the car less touchy. Lutz started this in his desc410r and is probably carrying it over to the buggy also. In addition, if you are using the old bottles of durango fluid that were labeled 30000 and they were really 3000. I have some here both new and old with the same part number on them and they started to drop a zero.

I know going to Losi 5k & 3k on our track worked well for most people. I thought the buggy was more responsive and even more predictable. Last year most ran 10k & 5k.

This past weekend at the Reedy Race I ran 12k, 12k. One thing I have started doing at the encouragement of Hupo is to run a 'square' diff set-up. Meaning same front and rear. This seems to balance the car better.
Also as to why i'm running these heavier fluids. Well I started the week off with 7, 7. But I was 'diffing' out exiting corners and going heavier eliminated that issue and made the car easier to drive for me on that track.
