Default 11.5t gearing?

Hi guys, i just got myself a DEX410R and a Speed Passion Ultra Sportsman V2 11.5r combo. I was wondering what gearing i should use as i have never run brushless before.
Will be running on a 1/8 outdoor track so no corners will be very tight for a 1/10 car.
would about 9:1 overall be a good starting point (24p/87sp)?

You would be under geared by alot!!! With my 10.5t with no boost, I have a 27tp / 87tsp on a small indoor track ( 8:1 ). Local guys say I have PLENTY of umph.. Try a 27t and check your temps

I ran the front bar a couple times in testing but it quickly came off due to the lack of overall steering. The biggest difference with any of the handling tweaking I have found is diff oil, spring and swaybars. My current diff oils are 5k front and 1500 cst rear (mixed 1k +2k) with the 408 diff mod(I have found oil weights may need to be lighter than equivalent sub 10k diff weights because of the additional preload the orings put on the diff)

One big thing I found was getting rid of the front aluminum servo mount and the rest of the aluminum chassis bits frees up the car and makes it more consistent/ easier to drive. I would suggest having the rear bar set however, simply purchase some lundsford ti turnbuckles to save about 10 bucks.

hope this helps
Ya that helps thanks ..I'm starting to see people running lower diff oil in rear I think I started to high I have 20k front 5k rear ... I'll go low next time maybe today

team-durango.com/part-info.php?partNo=TD390005

Look at the Standard part list, at the bottom it says Dex410"R" V3
so i guess we will see the R V3 soon aswell as the standard 410 V3

try 7k and 3 k rear to start with, 5k/ 1.5 might have to much steering lol.

Amain was invoiced for a few of the dex410 v3 buggies last week and I was told they should have them at the end of next week to start filling pre-orders.

So.. in a moment of blondeness I left my 410 on top of my car as I was cleaning my bench in the garage.. drove off forgetting it was on top a few hours later.

Came home to find that lovely 410 all smashed to pieces on the road in front of my house.

I'm sad.

Might be a good opportunity to "upgrade" to a v3 though..

/sigh.

That sucks bro... The V3 car looks good without all the bling you don't need.

Assuming the new car will take the same size lipos that you guys are already running, what is some lipos that you guys are running?

I'm just curious as I'm down to 2 cars and it depends on what happens with the other car if I get a durango... but just looking to see what all I need.

Thanks,
-DC-

Lipos have max legal dimensions now so the heights have been frozen at 25.1mm, With that I have been running the orion packs with great success. If you can get your hands on them check out the 90c packs.

see comment on tube.

Well I took some kyosho bits and rebuilt the front end of my 410 with kyosho ball cups and ball studs and it was a lot more consistent than with the stock plastics. Looking forward to getting the HD durango ball cups.

Hey guys I just got my grubby mits on a dex410r. I've been looking for set ups for loamy and clay *non blue groove* tracks. All the tracks I run on are one or the other or a mix of both. I'm sure there's set ups in this thread to fill my answers but being that this thread is sooooo huge I just thought I would ask for a quick link to a few set ups.

I know I'm lazy go ahead and burn me for it as long as you send the link I'm looking for with your hate mail lol jk.

I've noticed more people are trying this oil setup.

I'm about to contemplate re-trying a 410, but with the V3 and park my 511 for winter.
