Building a new 410R here and was wondering if anyone has had problems with the CVD shafts binding on the diff outdrives at full upward suspension travel. My rears are binding pretty good on the bench....fronts are close. I even used the little rubber bump stops on the shock shafts but still pretty tight on clearance. I'am afraid that the CVD shafts will bend if ran like this.

It's not you, they're pretty much junk. I replace mine with Avids as they go bad.

Where is the binding actually at? Is it near the diff outdrive or near the cv joint?

Does it go away if you take away the droop in the suspension?

At the diff outdrive at full suspension compression....extended looks good.

Another question regarding setup sheets....my "R" model has aluminum towers with four mounting positions in the front and five in the rear. How do these additional mounting holes correspond to what I see on the setups. All the setups I see online have only three mounting positions front and rear. I'am guessing I should go from the inside holes outward.....are the "R" buggy towers shared with the SC truck? Thanks

Are the cvd's locking up in the slots on the outdrives? When the suspension fully compresses,do the shafts go into the slots? I noticed mine do that when the shocks are off. I added o-rings to the shock shafts to prevent it...kinda.

Yes, the shafts can catch on the outdrive slots. It doesn't really matter which hole on the tower I go to....the result is the same. I guess the only fix other than buying option towers is to add a spacer to the shock shaft to limit upward travel. These towers look the same as the SC tuck parts complete with extra hole on the rear tower for the body mount.

When I put the 410 together I noticed the bearings were really notchy. I was thinking maybe the grease hardened inside of them since the kit may have been sitting for a while. I ended up putting some bearing oil in them and they became real smooth. I'm hoping this will help them last a little longer. Planning to race in couple weeks so we'll see.

Never noticed my 410 shafts catching on the outdrives, but I run the plastic cups as well as dust boots. The cups prevent the shaft from catching the slot.

I run the cups as well but only helps a little. They can still get caught in there...and yes no matter where you install shocks or links, still can happen. Adding o-rings to shock shafts help. Haven't locked up.

On my DEX410 the drive shafts don't go in that far and I get no binding. Have they increased the length of these?

Something must have changed. My buggy cant be made to do that in any position with the shocks on.
