when the original durango was for sale it was $1300 due to the exchange rate...be happy

I thought it was a lot of money, too, until I built my first DEX410. It's a very good deal!
If you buy a B44, or ZX5, and add all the extras, you'll pay about the same and have a lot of useless extra parts sitting around. With the DEX410, you get the complete race ready package, with all the original Team Durango parts. I have my "pocket change" ready for the 2010 DEX410, and the DEX210!

Im getting back into the game with a DEX410 (when they get them.) and a B4 as a place holder until the DEX210 comes out. The machines are exciting compared to the RC10 i had in the late 80's and early 90's. I like the tunable gear diffs and the stunning quality of the kit. Can't wait!

I donno, what is the cost of a Losi 8ight-E Race Roller? $900 if I'm not mistaken. How many of those are out there already? People spend twice that on 1/8th gas buggies when it's all said and done.
When it comes down to brass tacks, if you want one of the greatest electric off road buggies (of any kind) ever made, $650 doesn't seem so outrageous.
A luxo touring car is $400 to $500+ and there are many brands that fall into that price point (Schumahcer, Xray, Kyosho, Tamiya, etc). There are tens of THOUSANDS of them out there, too. How many hundreds of dollars in high priced TRF hop-ups do Tamiya 501x owners buy? How much money do owners of other cars spend making them durable, easy to work on and tunable?
Maybe it's just me, but I'd rather spend it all up front, then build and own the best car on the track before I ever get there. Outside of some weak driveshaft pins, I haven't heard much about the DEX410 that breaks. When was the last time you didn't have to go to a race with $300 in spare parts for when you break an arm or a shock tower?
Something to consider.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a budget version, but yes, the R should be about $350 USD.
As for the DEX410 updates, I heard they are just running changes and not a completely new release. They should have the 2.0mm drive pins from the R version, as well as the other little improvements.

I emailed them earlier this week and they said it would be late april before the had the updated kits in stock again.
And its ok to call it a budget version, anyone that looks at the pictures or sees one in person will automatically associat that R just means less aluminum not lesser quality.
