Team Durango DEX410 4WD 1/10 Off-Road Buggy Thread

AiR2k: Yes, it will really SUCK big time if that was the case. The Serpent off road buggy to the best of my working knowledge has a special rear drive shaft that can be removed for battery access. I think the Durango buggy will have the same style of getting access to the batteries. I have an Aero1 buggy (Durango clone
) that uses two CF battery straps held down with thumb screws. Excellent design and very easy to use....

That thing looks pretty cool... I cringe to think what it will cost to get into one... probably a $500 car... another $100+ for a saddle pack lipo... and nearly $300 for one of few Brushless systems that will fit... so add a servo and receiver you are looking at well over $1000...
Not sure about the gear diffs though....ball diffs are so easy to adjust.. though I suppose gear diffs would last infinitely longer.. hmm
Guess we'll see!

Oh my, she's a beaut. Looks like the weight distribution is even better then the DF-03 cars...
I wonder if the weight would be more biased towards the front with a LiPo setup?
But no matter, you can always add weights. The power to weight ratio with a LiPo/Brushless combo is insane anyways!
Durango is an awesome car, but like Jerome stated, the price tag will probably scare away many people here in the states. Would be cool if the Durango team can sell this design to a mass-producer like Tamiya, Kyosho, AE, or Losi...

hell yeah! I made a post a couple months ago asking for a 4wd buggy with gear diffs, shaft driven, and stick pack. I'll take 2 out of 3 anyday, the first two criterias were the most important anyway. Looking forward to this badboy.
If anyone know of a buggy that does all three and can race, please let me know.

The car is from small company and all materials look pretty expensive, like machined aluminum chassis for example.
Hopefully we get some facts sooner than later.

I'm certainly still game for one even if I just build it to be displayed next to my mint Tamiya Avante. Well...maybe I'll have to buy 2

Has anyone heard any news about Durango being at the toy fair in Nuremberg, Germany?

RedRC.net said that more info would be coming soon. I would think we should have a MSRP in a week or 2. I wouldn't be the least bit shocked if the new Durango has a $700+ street price. I do hope that I'm surprisingly shocked on this though. The British pound is always stronger than the USD
Usually close to 2GP to 1 USD

I'm not married yet so the fiance' can't complain yet!!!

And the British pound is worth a LOT less than $2 now - it has plummeted over the last 6 months to about $1.40.
