What motor do you have? Novak Velociti's are a lot different than an LRP X-12. Same goes for Speedos, things like the RS Pro are drastically different than the GTB

I doubt they even know. I think 2000 might be good for racing on carpet? Don't know why they thought everyone in the world was racing on carpet, though...

I would start around 11.25, that's a 19t pinion with stock spur. Of course do the usual, run it for a minute or so and check your temp, run for a minute check your temp, etc. You can never be sure, better safe than sorry.

What diff oil are you using? Have you tried different weights?

Thanks

Any recommendations on diff oil and gearing. I run on a medium size, medium bite track with lots of jumps. I am currantly running the tekin rs pro with a 5.5motor geared with the stock spur and a 16t pinion. Thanks.

I'm running 5k front and 1k rear, a setup that was suggested long before anyone had a chance to really test the car with heavier oils. So far it's aweful. I'm using the basic setup on the website on a fairly loose soil track. The car fishtails a lot. I'm going to switch to at least 20k front and 10k rear pretty soon, maybe 10k up from that.

I think Crazy Carl is using 20k front and 10k rear also? I forget what he last said he was using, if you go back a page or 2 you can find out.

With these batteries the weight will fit --no foam though
Currently running 20,000 front and 5,000 rear. Had 10,000 to heavy
Tried 3,000 rear to lite for my driving style.
Will try 7,000 tonight. I got the second complete diff in so i will set it up with 7,000 and compare each in its own qual..
The weight was the best improvement so far also largest swaybay on the front--nothing on the rear as of yet
2 hole pistons front and 3 hole drilled out to losi blue in the rear--all with associated 25 wt oil
How did the different diff oils work out?

Still running the 20,000 in the front and 5,000 in the rear
Seems to be the best suited for my driving and type track.
Also have made new 3 hole pistons using losi size holes 55 rear & 57 ft
Losi 22.5 oil all around. Rear arms moved forward and rear hubs 3.0mm in the back 1.0mm in the front
Still running the extra weight in front of the lipo and really like the j concepts 7" wing.Car tracks very good and is now very stable. Still waiting for the LRP lipos to arrive.

I don't think dialing in this car is only about dif oils. I had issues with the car being tail happy. It only takes a few small adjustments elsewhere to sort that kind of thing before you get frustrated with diff oils.

You have to think about using lipos and maybe additional weight placement or spring choice. This isn't a B44.

There are plenty of set-up sheets available. A lot use to 20k front 10k rear. Be ready to stock up on front tires if you run hot motors.

i ran on a consistent high bit track last weekend with 20k/10k. car was good but the diffs were leaking oil from the outdrives.

throughout the day the diffs got free as the oil drained out. by the end of the day they had 1/4 left and it felt like 5k/1k

car did not change in handling all day and the lap times were super consistent. deviation was <.8 all day.

seemed to prove what I had tested the week before when I tried 20k/10k, 10k/5k and 5k/1k that there was little difference........

the DEX was planted. more can be gained by the shock settings I think - plus I bought the car so I did not have to rebuild a diff! and so far I have rebuilt them 20 times playing with oils
