Does anyone else's slipper pads work (AE?) with the Durango setup?

I want to build a spare slipper assembly with a 84 spur instead of the 87 and be able to switch them out quickly.

Hey, I remember in the Oople article whether or not the "other guys" slippers fit or not. If I recall correctly these are a bit larger--either way they do make note of this in that article. Cheers!

Looks like they will fit:

"The pads are the ubiquitous 'B4' size octagonal shaped design and are clamped either side by intricately machined alloy plate and combined layshaft and plate machined from steel - all heavily lightened, if that's the right way of putting it."

What I was thinking of is the spur itself:

"The spur design looks similar to others but the centre hole diameter is larger than those seen on the likes of the Associated B4 or Tamiya TRF511 and therefore not interchangeable."

heya fellow durango owners .... Just got back from my local auto shop and was able to get some o-rings to fit my diffs. They were only 50c aus each (not sure how much that is in USA) and they felt like they sealed a lot better. I haven't ran them yet but they certainly feel alot better.

anyone running futaba receivers? If so are you running the full antenna coming out through the body or did you find another way to route the antenna so it doesn't stick out of the body?

I am running the Futaba stuff and just have been sticking it out the body. I am still running a practice body but have formed an antenna to stay under the body when I am ready to run the paint job.

I see that some guys wrap the coax antenna around the Rx once to leave a short lead . . .

I do. I reamed a hole in the windshield and stood it up. I didn't have a lighter with me, but the antenna is short enough to be bent at a 90* angle and stop right before the spur gear assembly. I'll take some pics when I get off.

Diff housing are now available. They have new hardened outdrive cup, and washer to hold in oring. I have 4 diff housings available. Also I am making new outdrive cups for the ring gear side. They will have less wear than the original. PM me if interested, or call 203-309-9108.

I am going to head to the hobby shop on monday for a race and i am gonna pick up a few things for when I get this car..

On ,,y list re p5 o rings

I want to get the gears and diff oil as well but I dont know what I should gear it at.. nor the oil..

So anyway I am gonna be running a RS Pro with a orion 7.5.. Probly no timing or boost cause everyone where I race I think uses 10.5. What do you think for gearing?

Also diff oil.. I am gonna be running a clay track, meduim to high bite, gets watered and does dry but doesnt groove up..

Thanks for the help

I run a 22 tooth pinion with my 7.5 setup. I run on a smaller track and can't put all of that power down, so I'll be switching to a 13.5 this week.

I too am looking for the P5 o-rings, if you find them in stock anywhre, let me know. lol
