If my SRX-4 doesn't work out, I'm all over this v5.

Hi everyone,
I bought a used dex410 and have trouble with poping cups.
Are lunsford links better than durango titanium ones? I just want to buy the losi cups, 4.8mm i think and leave the other. Thanks

Your best option is to replace ALL Cups and Ball Studs to the TLR or Kyosho ones. Just use a body reamer to open up holes on the back side of the cups so you can use your driver without removing the cups.

I have yet to find better, more robust cups and studs.

Agree to a point if its a used 410 then the ball cups have at least popped once.

I have been running the dex410V3 version cups on all my cars (black colour not the new blue grey ones) and have had 2 pop off in racing over 2 years. But I never pop them off or on for maintenance (always unscrew the ball stud) and those 2 that did Pop i replaced with a new ball cup straight away.

TLR and Kyosho one's are good but I have never had the issue people get with TD ball cups and I have a few TD cars *see signature*

Does anyone know if the old Kuhler DEX410 body will fit the V5?

It wont. The v5 has a new, wider chassis.

Hi ekt..

I see you also live in AUS, where do you suggest the best place to order a new V5 would be? I am very keen!

JP Richards killing it with the V4 today, he out qualified Cav after the second qualifier at the CRCRC. Super rad!

Hobbies Australia are TD suppliers. Front line hobbies in newcastle nsw are primary TD suppliers they will have the kit when it's available.

After seeing JP Richards do that with a dex410v4 I'm not that worried about the v5. It's always the person behind the controller that dictates how well a car performs.

The v4 grey ones never pop off but I find that the turnbuckle can push itself into the ballcup, I think it was better when they were to tight to adjust now they are too loose, try again durango. I assume the losi cups don't fit the durango ballstuds and you need to buy losi ones ?

+1

I find Kyosho's are terrible for adjustments ( so tight and such a small amount of meat for getting the tool on. Once they soften, they go just like all their plastics).

I found the durango ones to be great, but if you pop them around alot, they will loosen (all brands do) , just make sure it always unscrew them. (Probably what's happened to the 2nd hand one, or its seen a hell of a lot of work in dust without good cleaning).

I'm still running 90% of the origional ones on my stock dex410v3 (seasons have been run since it came out) all the origionals on my dex410v4 (3/4 season).

not sure Losi balls, depth or threads are the same..

I don't mine the look of the new one ( pretty much the Dex210F ) but I'm hoping something like the Kuhler will come out.. maybe from Azarashi ?

I use only Losi ball cups and studs and Lunsford Punisher turnbuckles on all my cars. I take my time with the ball cups. I thread them on and off the turnbuckles many times until I can hold the turnbuckle with a wrench and tighten the cup all the way down by hand. I spend more time building these than I do the entire rest of the vehicle so it's not quick but I've never ever had a problem with them.

Sorry for the late response. As Pittster said, Fontline Hobbies will likely have them in stock when Hobbies Australia gets them in. If you have a local hobby shop that deals with Hobbies Australia, you should be able to order through them too.
