Sounds like the car is unloading, like it's bouncing. It's either too stiff or too soft and bottoming out. It sounds like you're on carpet, so try dropping your car from the height of the jump and see what it's doing. You could also go thicker on the diff oil to prevent it from difficult out and spinning when it's unloading.

Just bought a V3 with lots of upgrades from the V4. I do have a question on the ESC and Motor setup in the car currently. To me it seems overpowered but let me know what you guys think.
Motor is a Trinity 3.5 turn with a Tekin RS Pro ESC.
I have not received the car yet so im not sure what its geared at or what its temping. Thanks!

most pro use 5.5 or 6.5 3.5 is way too much

A 3.5 is way too much motor I've found the RS Pro will struggle, temperature wise, with a 5.5 unless you have fans blowing over it.

Thanks guys i thought that seemed like too much motor. Do you think i would be fine to run an orion 7.5 with the Tekin RS Pro ESC. I have one sitting around. Thanks again!

Yes 7.5 is what i run. RS pro will work but keep an eye on the temps....I used to run that ESC but it always ran pretty hot...

what type of gearing are you using with you 7.5? temps? track type? my local track is an outdoor med grip clay/dirt mix.

87/22. My motor runs pretty toasty so I have a fan mounted on it.

Primarily run it on a small Indoor/Clay track.

I am finding even the 5.5 is a little much for the buggy. I run a 5.5 and nothing but heat issues. I'm at 21 I think but now it's turned down to 75% medium sized track. Doesn't matter where I gear it always comes off 180-190...that isn't the real issue though...it's the wear and tear LOL. second set of cvd rebuilds all around, blown out bearings, fun stuff. BUT IT DOES RIP!

I put a 5 turn Tekin in mine for one race. It was stupid fast, and cleared jumps like superman. I put that away, lol, and now use a Tekin 7.5 also geared 87/22, but no heat issues with the RS Pro. I put an RSX in it, but have not raced it yet.

Good info guys thanks! I think the 7.5 will be going in it for sure. But i might have to try it once before i make the swap. 87/22 seems to be the general setup that i have seen.

I was running 18/87 with a 6.5 and it still got hot thermalled near the end of the main Friday running carpet off road. I will be going to the v4 diff stuff in the carpet car so we'll see how that affects the motor temps. I'll be running 19/87 in the dirt car, with a 20t pinion on a sonic 6.5 in blinky it was at 170, 190 on the ESC slightly over geared I guess. I wouldn't recommend anything more then a 6.5 for sure, and wouldn't suggest an rs pro in this car either. I love mine in the 2wd car though

I think that esc only goes down to a 7.5? Be very careful with temps
