Has anyone vented their chassis the way that Jorn has? If so how much of a drop in temps have you seen?

Pretty sure that helps but I'd rather not have the extra excess dirt going into my car. A quality fan does a great job of keeping temps down.

Speaking of temps, what motor are you guys running and how hot is it getting? I'm running a speedpassion 7.5 and only hitting 120-130 degrees without a fan or ventilation

@rc dude: I've run 5.5 and 6.5T motors with my Speed Passion Reventon and I also don't usually get over 130. I run the fans just because…..

I'm running a 10-turn Orion with 23T pinion and can't get above 140f running over 20 minutes continuous. No fan on the motor, just the esc. Cut vents in front and rear scoops of the Kuhler body and a couple in the lower windshield.
I notice there's a good size opening in the chassis through the rear shock tower area from the interior so it seems like intake cooling is more important.

I'm currently running a 7.5 and its about 130 or so. I tried a 5.5 and that thing would sky rocket up to 160 - 170

I'm running 21/87 usually with my 5.5T motor. Temps last time out were around 130 even on long practice runs 10 mins +. I'll do some more testing next time out…hoping to hit the track soon!

Haha ok, thanks guys, I expected such a tight body with no ventilation would make it run much hoter, guess I have it geared well and that the chassis dissipates a lot of heat (its pretty warm after a run

Has anyone dropped in the v4 composite cross shafts and gears? If so how does the car drive now compared to when you had the metal shafts and gears? Any idea how much weight is removed by doing the swap?

I have been running them in the v5 for a few months now. I can't say what the weight savings was or if it drives any different. But I will say they are much smoother when testing by hand, unless your metal gears have a lot of miles on them. They come with 3 sets, I wonder if it something to come from Durango.....congrats to Jorn on the sweep at the European Championships!!

I just put the composite gears in mine and noticed that the metal ones had a nice bit of heft to them! So I was just curious if anyone had checked the weight on them.

5g weight saving per diff but its rotating mass, I noticed it in 17.5 (stock) I doubt you would notice in Mod I also run the composites in my DESC210 with a 10.5.

Thanks Pittster! That a 15g weight loss thru the whole car. I'm sure I won't notice too much difference since I do run mod. We'll see what she does when I take it out.

Hi guys, sorry to jump in the thread a little off topic but I'm current acquiring the necessary kit to start 1/10 buggy racing now I've found a local club. I've been offered a new in box dex410v3 kit for 180. Looking at the price of the v4 I didn't think this was a bad price but just wanted some advice from people who are obviously very knowledgable on the model. Any advice or input is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Nick
