I'm thinking about buying one of these combos off eBay:

Basically these are both 13T Brushless motors, KV: 3000, with the difference being one is 35A, burst current 190A and the other is 25A, Burst Current 90A. The one with less amps is about $15 cheaper. I'm going to try them out in my Traxxas Rustler and/or HBX Bonzer/Buggy.

Anyone have any experience with these? I'm mainly going to use 3300 mah Nimh batteries. A guy on another forum is using the first one and from the video, it looks like a lot of fun. I'm mainly considering because Brushless is less maintenance than the Trinity P2k2 Pros I'm currently running.

the only thing I would be concerned with is who fixes it when it breaks? Most of the more expensive brushless companies have excellent service and warranty coverage.

I would search here in the forsale section for a Novak, LRP or anything used for a good price. Stick with a top brand and you won't go wrong.

The Yeah Racing brushless systems are manufactured by hobby wing( look for hobbywing brushless thread here on r/c tech.)I will actually be importing these systems after the first of the year . Would do it sooner , but I am also waiting for their 5000 25c hardcased li-po to be released.Regardless I will be an authorized yeah racing dealer here in the states. I deal with Yeah racing directly, and will be able to direct customes for the servicing and repair of their electronics,and also handling the submitting of the yeah racing hard cased li-pos to roar for approval along with the Sensorless brushless systems.

Also to answer the original poster's question. Go with the 35a continuous 190 burst system.

The 2 systems you have linked are both made by hobbywing. hobby wing offers the ez run in both 25a cont. and 35 a continuous.

yeah racing also offers a 25a contiuous, and a 35 a continuous rated system.

also after the 1st of the year I will be able to match the prices offered by dinball(R/CMart) @ 69.00 shipped for the 25a systems and 85.00 shipped for the 35a systems, BUT since they will already be here in the states, shipping time will be GREATLY reduced. (3 days vs. 2 weeks)

It says for 2- cell lipos........no good you need 4-5 cell lipo for racing and 3000kv is to high!

we are discussing the 2 systems linked by the original poster.Besides guys yeah racing doesnt market the ez-run 60 a unit.That is a hobby wing exclusive.I will not be handling any service or selling of any hobby wing branded units, only the units produced BY hobbywing for Yeah racing.

I picked up one of the Hobbywing EZRun ESC combo's with what they call a 9T which is about the speed of a about an 8.5 Novak... I really dig the little program card and the small size of the ESC itself... I however was not impressed with the cheap quality of the motor.. the end of the can (pinion shaft side) stripped out and wouldn't re-tighten. I ended up JB Welding it and that seems to be ok for the moment..

If I had to do it again now.. I would probably just buy a Novak Havoc with the 8.5ex for $140 at my LHS... Quality + Service = Better Value. Plus it runs sensored motors... Seen and heard (REALLY NOISY) sensorless guys running at the local track.. Some cog so much they leave the line when we are more than halfway down the straight!

Thanks for the tips, and I'll just probably go with the 35A version to start, but why is it "better" than the 25A version? If you're going to be selling them after the first of the year, I'll probably be giving you an order, but like my name indicates, I'm "cheap" and if the 25A will give me similar or better performance than my brushed Trinity P2K2Pro motors, the savings will allow me start converting over to brushless after you start selling them (so hurry up! LOL).

i would go with the 35a cont . controller beause of the increased burst rate(190a) for some insurance against drivetrain drag(seized bearing, bound tranny,etc.) it will handle abuse much better than the 25a,90a burst controller. The upgraded fets in the 35a controller will give you more reliable operation in these events. Plus I think like a racer because I am a racer!lol. sometimes a little extra insurance is worth the few dollars extra it costs.
