Well I have a newly converted RC8e as well and all im waiting on is the same battery. Bought the 5000 25C 4s a few days ago, it has shipped as well so ill let you know when I get it. Heck for 68$ you just cant beat it. I have done extensive research on Zippy lipo's. I have read in helicopter forums and airplane forums till my eyes hurt and 90% of the post on them is positive. For just playing and bashing they seem to be exceptional for what you pay. I have a High dollar maxAmp pack that I think is awesome, have nothing bad to say about it, and I actually plan on buying more maxamps packs, but man they are expensive. I wouldlike to get a 5250 pack to see waht is does compared to the 5000 zippy I have on the way. tax return will be used to order that one, and im going to do a comparison.

how many 4s lipos would a guy need for a race day? Would 2 be enough or at least 3? don't they get warm after running them in an 8th scale? I'm going with the mamba monster 2650kv per castle's recommendation. Wonder what kind of run time.

Yup 750 is a good price for the e8. I think I am still going to get the rc8e as soon as tekin comes out with the rx8 esc and motors.

Does anyone know if the rc8e is in true kit form or is it race roller type deal.

You only need one, but two is nice. You should get a solid 15 min maybe 20 depending on how you drive.

depending on track conditions, it is possible to dump a 5000mah 4S lipo prior to the 15 minute mark. slick big tracks can do this. Especially if you are running with nitros and are gearing up on the straights.

As for how many packs you should have. depends again on what competition you are running with. iF you are running with nitros, I would get 2 packs. that way, you could do the battery swap if needed for mains.

Default novak vs. cc

Has anyone compared the two combos with electric conversions before the 8e and the ae one came out? In the last r/c car action they ran a novak 5.5 with a "custom" LRP esc (I am guessing they will have this esc out soon with a combo) and said the 5.5 was similar to the sc8 stock engine with more control and overall it was much smoother....

I use cc esc's in my rc10b4's and t4's and love the programming, but was just curious if anyone had experience with the novak combo... I think on a-main the novak combo is 260 and the cc is about 300....

Currently I'm using the Novak HV Pro w/ 6.5 motor, I haven't tested a MMM Combo yet (I will once I get it), but I've ran with on the track, and they were pretty close in speed and punch.

I have always like the Novak brushless kits, because they are sensored, and I have had experiance with a MM and "gogging".

The CC can be had for less than $260 (now if I could just remember where I saw that price ). You had to use the code "ESC" and you got the price.

Looked back in my history, it was http://holmeshobbies.com/home.php

Default thanks....

Thanks for the replies. I think overall either way things would be fine... I do like the idea of the sensored motor and appreciate the hint at the cc price. I think I will go with the Novak. I don't think LRP has made a 1/8 combo yet but then again I am not too sure. Well it is off to Denver for the Rumble in the Rockies this weekend with the b4/t4.

Thanks...

I have finished my conversion of my RC8 to electric. I am running the CC mamba monster with the 2650 motor and currently used my 6000 mah 30C 2s lipo maxamps to run it. low volts but it worked. waiting on my 4s lipo to arrive. The CC setup is killer, and I got it from my local hobby shop for 199$. The AE kit is clean and really fits nice. The cogging is only noticable in the first few seconds, and if you punch it, it takes off with huge torque. im way happy!

when you get your 4s lipo and if you still get cogging, post your ESC settings on the 1/8 electric forum and we will get you sorted.

Cool, thanks! My 2s does not make it go too fast, but if i punch it, it will spin all four tires, huge torque, cant wait for 4s!

Question Cain,

what are the default CC settings on my ESC? I dont have a windoz box, but I can get to one if I have too.

Also, when I hit the brake, it stops pretty fast, it does not bother me, but I dont want to fry anything. The fan didnt come on at all,

thanks,
