Default Cheep Lipo's

I am fairly new to Lipo batteries, but certainly not new to RC. I know that there is a difference between cheep batteries and expensive. I have tried many, and of course you get what you pay for. But some times, the less expensive stuff is not that bad and works fine for bashing. I am looking for some less expensive batteries for my E-Revo (equipped with a Mamba Monster and 2200kv) or just playing around. I came across these batteries on ebay, and I can't believe how cheep they are.

19bucks for two???? that doesn't make sense. Even cheep batteries from Max amps, or losi go for much much more. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I dont think i would touch those.15c burst and 10c continuous, no hard case,no connector of any kind, and 20.00 shipping,, I tthink I would look into some zippy 4000 packs or some yeah 4000 packs.Besides you did notice they were 11.1v packs??

I noticed that they were 11.1. That's what I was looking for, two 3S packs for the system. The MM can take up to 6S, so two 3S packs to even out the weight would be fine. I have two 2S packs now, but would like a few more packs so I am not limited to how many runs in one day.

Naaaaw, they arent as rough and they arent constantly going from full throttle to brake...They draw a ton to take off then meander between 25-60%...in most applications...there are exceptions though...

These would put out 40 amps continuous, 60 amps burst. Probably not a good idea to try to run these with the MMM/2200kV combo. They'll get really hot and probably end up frying.

Arrow Hmmmmm.

DHC6,

I believe those 3s lipos will not supply the needed amperage to take advantage
of its 3S configuration and could heat up, burn or maybe even explode trying to
supply amperage they were not designed to put out if they are to go into the
brushless E-Revo.

I'm also not comfortable about purchasing from a site that is inaccurate of
the way it presents its products as the battery as presented is described as
"4000mah 15C 11.1v Li-Po Battery" which 15C rating is usually interpreted as
"continuous" but this same 15C rating is later qualified as being "burst" in
the "Features" section. Other manufacturers would then describe this product
as "4000mah 10C 11.1v Li-Po Battery" which 10C rating is usually and
properly interpreted as "continuous".

While ~$20 each shipped is really very inexpensive, it may serve you best to
remember the old adage that "you get what you pay for".

i would'nt limit yourself as far as batteries, especially in an 1/8th scaler, and ESPECIALLY with a mamba system. 10c sir, will fry like bacon. i'd look at some maxamps packs, and you may just have to bite the bullet. no better department to do it in than batteries

Going to 11.1V lipos does not change run time or how many runs in a day[a good lipo can be ran many times in a day] , just makes you go faster . 6S is way too much for your truck as 4S is plenty . If you spend your money wisely on good lipos you will see the difference in speed and run time . I wouldn`t look at anything under a 25C rating or 20C at the very least .

I agree about not limiting yourself with batteries, but I wouldn't look at Maxamps. They've got brilliant marketing, but not the best product for the money.

OP: Do your homework on batteries, it's NOT always true that you get what you pay for in RC because a lot of what you pay for is marketing. With Lipo's they're all more or less made in the same places with the same cells, just marketed differently. Find a reputable source, like guys who race at your local track and learn from their experience. Anyone who blindly says Maxamps is the best has succumbed to marketing, not proven performance.
