Default Please help,Losi 8ightE warranty!

Buddy Broke the esc. He said the mud guard came up and contacked the speedo and broke it.It is broken open.He called horizion and they told him basically there is nothing they can do for him! He is bummed. Is there any one There he should talk with? He bought it new 2 weeks ago.
It was a ripper.Prob 1 of the trickest models out.
Thanks

I wouldn't expect Losi to warranty the Speedo based on what you are describing. It is not a manufacturing defect that caused the problem, but user error. If the mud guard broke and hit the speedo, that is not Losi's fault.

i would hate to say but i am betting that he is probably on his own.. does it still work? most speedo cases split in half and can be pressed back together

That would suck if Losi/Horizon didn't at least have some sort of system whereby they can repair/replace the unit at a discounted rate. Castle creations will repair/replace any of their products, usually at about 1/3rd the cost of the unit, regardless of the damage. Try getting a manager on the phone and explain the situation. Granted, Losi/Horizon might not have the customer service that CC has but still, nag them and they might give.
