Default brushless.....loud?

I was under the impression that these brushless motors should be more quiet than a brushed motor? I have a losi xcelorin 10.5 and took it out of my car and all and it seems to be somewhat loud. I don't mean outrageous....but it's a good bit louder than another guys at the track that I think runs brushed...but maybe it's brushless. I'm not real sure but it is definitely a good bit louder as a whole..

This varies from motor to motor. I have noticed that most of the ROAR style motors are louder than others (not including the mamba motors). The early novak ss5800 motors were very loud and in fact had rotor problems.

Or if you don't take care of them right. But a new brushless motor should be no louder than a bushed motor.

Do you have a sensored or sensorless Xcelorin? I've noticed that the sensorless motors can be pretty loud... especially when they first go from a complete stop. They "cog" while trying to get the feedback to the ESC for the correct power.

Mine is the same volume as my old brushed motor. I have the Orion Vortex 10.5.

it's definitely sensored. it's not the pinion thats loud. it even feels rough when its running. Like it's got a vibration. It's nothing new, it's ALWAYS done this. Is it supposed to???

Possible bearing issue?
My old 5.5 had a bad rotor and made a weird vibration and funny noise. What kinda rotor does the xcelerion have?

* - Sensor cable supplied (different lengths optional)
* - No cogging sensor design
* - Compatible with most sensored electronic speed controls
* - Long-life neodymium sintered rotor for superior torque and stronger braking
* - Precision ball bearings for improved performance
* - Low profile, easy-to-solder tabs
* - Minimal motor maintenance required

it's sintered....
