It is "similar" but not the same motor. Basically Castle Creations worked with Steve Neu on the design and then contracted the motors to be made in China to reduce costs. The Castle motors look really good and the price on the combo is great!

The Castle 2200/kv motor is similar to the Neu 1515/1y/f and the Castle 2650/kv motor is similar to the Neu 1512/1y/f (except it is 2650/kv instead of the Neu's 2750/kv).

Is there a way to get the motors without buying a combo? I already bought the Monster when it first came out, and the Castle motors weren't available yet. I don't need another ESC, but I wouldn't mind a look at their motors. I've only ever seen them offered as a combo with the ESC.

MM motors are made in China and NEUs are hand built...
