Default battery shrink wrap

I have a maxamps 4700MaH NiMh 8 cell battery and while i was driving today, the battery got really hot and melted a hole in the shrink wrap and one of the cells paint came off. Should i replace the shrink wrap, or will the battery be okay. if i should replace the shrink wrap, where is a good place to get it done? thanks.

Mate the Cell will be ok, however it will pay to add some wrap or similar. insulation tape will do the trick just fine, or depending on where you live go to a car or electronics out let, they will have all you need to DIY.

Pretty simple, cut shrink to right length, place over pack (remove old shrink 1st), then apply heat - hair dryer will work, but a real heat gun does a quicker, better job.

Pretty much all there is to it.
