Well they included some nice parts and took care of the weak points.Front arms and rear Shock tower.
Personally I run some delrin front arms on my car and love them.
The new hingepins, shock collars are a nice touch with everything else being graphite for on the average of $40.00 more.
Not too shabby.

Everyone at TRCR with one seems to like it. The only real differance is durability. It seems to hold up better.

it seems losi has tried to fix the easy to break parts..

Still , the old XX-4 is way faster in mod....

Way faster=1/2 sec lap quicker ....

With a Modiflied motor the XX-4`s triple belt drivetrain is smoother than a single belt layout.

Also the XX`s supension layout works better & is tuffer too !

I personally seen a sponsored driver go the1/2 sec faster with the Xx-4 compared to his XXX.

I also get to see the two cars battle on my track week after week . Watching the two run together makes it easy to see which one goes faster....

If Losi allowed their driver`s to run a XX-4 over the XXX I`m sure we would see a few choose the older car over the new one.

Its funny you mention that because thats exactly what Jukka Steenari did when he won the previous IFMAR 4wd. Much to Losi's chagrin. Most if not all the Losi drivers were running the xxx-4 except Jukka, he won with the "old" car.

Mad Mike-Being new to the hobby please let this be a HUGE lesson.Just because it's new doesnt mean it's better.
So many people get caught up in hype it's crazy.

The XXX-4 works great on high bite fast tracks with smaller jumps.
Plus its easier to work on.

If the track is rough w/big jumps then it's the XX-4.

Jukka did the same thing at the 1st annual losi race.Him and Rick Howart went BACK to the XX-4 due to being faster with it.

I think every new car is hard to get right compared to the previous model. and with the xx4 being such a superb car it would be even harder for the xxx4 to become faster 1st time out.

I dont understand what you mean about the belts being smoother with 3 instead of 1, the drivetrain in the xxx4 is far superiour to the xx4

I believe now that we have all had some time with the xxx4 and the g+ revision now available then it IS a better car than the xx4.

more than anything, it is way faster off the mark, I even think it jumps better or at least allows you to jump better for this reason.

I won quite a lot with my xx4 in 2002 but even if I had the choice I would not go back to it.

As it stands right now, the xxx4 is faster, but I do believe that the xx4 is an easier car to drive.

Definately solved some durability problems with the G+.

As to any speed difference between the xx vs the xxx time will tell I think. Remember these guys had years to perfect their setups on the older platform.

A few xx4's still show up and do well at our track. However the xxx4 seems to be a more stable and easier to work on car.
