Default gearing question

what pinion should i run if i have a 86T spur and im running a ss5800 brushless setup at 7.2 volts? ill be running for 30 minutes at a time and dont want to have it shut off from getting to hot

well for one thing, you did not provide a enough information.

Second, its all personal preference for gearing. Play around with the gears and find what works for you.

Take the the track condition, length, and turns.

well i just went on the novak website and it list that i should have a final drive ration of about 10.5 for the motor i want to run, so i was able to download my manual for my truck and figure out i need a 20 tooth pinion and a 86 tooth spur to get a 10.44 final drive ratio, so thanks for trying but it looks like i just needed to search harder

depends on ur ride. my son runs a 5800 in his xxx-t with 20/84, my slash didn't get over 120* running mm5700 running 17/86.

i will be running it in a xxx-t same exact setup as your son only 86t spur instead of 84 which means the final drive will be .2 different which hopefully wont make a big difference
